The opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympics were memorable productions which will be a part of all who witnessed it in person or watched it on television.  China has set a standard for these ceremonies so high it will stand for generations to come.
 
The torch has been extinguished but sparks have been placed in hearts around the world.  May these sparks become flames, flames of warmth and friendship towards China until the end of time.
 
China has done an outstanding job.  I would like to thank all the workers and volunteers who were involved in anyway with the Beijing 2008 Olympics.  Please thank them on my behalf.  They and all of China must be proud of these past 17 days.
